Today was our first full day in Paris. We did quite a bit but I was most excited to see the Musée d’Orsay. I remember on my family European trip going their and seeing some of the best paintings in the world.
The museum is filled with pieces from Monet, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Sisley, and so many others. Its a small museum it its easy to spend hours here.
Though there are many amazing paintings to see here, I was most excited to see one in particular. Impression Sunset by Claude Monet the painting that gave the impressionists their name. Though its a somewhat small piece it is still amazing. First displayed in Paris in 1874 at the first impressionist exhibition it is still displayed in Paris at the Musée d’Orsay.
After the museum we spent the day exploring the streets of Paris. We saw some of the classic sites like the Eiffel tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Most importantly I got some croissants from a boulangerie and Ashley got some cheese from a fromagerie.
